Overview
NUMBERS is New York’s three-digit game, drawn twice a day at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. ET. Pick three digits from 0–9 and a play type: Straight, Box, Straight/Box, Combination, or Pair. A play costs 50¢ or $1, and the prize doubles on the $1 wager — a Straight hit pays $250 on 50¢ and $500 on $1, at odds of 1 in 1,000.
How to play — step by step
1. Select 3 numbers
Choose 3 numbers from 0 to 9, or mark Quick Pick and let the terminal choose.
2. Pick a play type
Straight matches the exact order. Box matches any order (1 in 333 with two identical digits, 1 in 167 with three different ones). Straight/Box pays both when the order is exact and the Box prize otherwise. Combination covers every Straight arrangement on one ticket.
3. Or bet a pair
Front Pair or Back Pair matches the first or last two digits in order, at 1 in 100 for $25 on a 50¢ play or $50 on $1.
4. Choose how many drawings
Pay $0.50 per play (add-ons cost extra). Tell the retailer how many consecutive drawings you want, or mark Advance Play on the slip.

Responsible play tips
- Straight is 1 in 1,000 no matter which three digits you choose — 000 and 123 are equally likely.
- Box widens your odds but cuts the prize. A 6-way Box pays $80 on a $1 play versus $500 Straight.
- The 50¢ and $1 wagers have identical odds; only the payout changes. Winning tickets expire one year from the draw date.
