Official release

A Missouri Lottery player tripled his $50,000 prize to $150,000 by adding the Power Play option to the Powerball ticket he purchased for the Sept. 28 drawing. He purchased the winning ticket at Hazelwood Discount Liquor, 406 Elmgrove, in Hazelwood.

Power Play is a multiplier feature that automatically increases any non-jackpot win by the multiplier number drawn.  The winner’s base prize for matching four of the five white-ball numbers was $50,000. Because he added Power Play and the Power Play number drawn was 3, his prize was immediately tripled.

The winning numbers drawn on Sept. 28, were 17, 21, 29, 42 and 49 with a Powerball number of 7.

During FY26, players in St. Louis County won more than $1.1 billion in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $19.9 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $33.9 million in Lottery proceeds went to educational programs in the county.
