A jackpot chaser from Harford County won big on a scratch-off game. The Street resident took home one of the many $30,000 top prizes on the 30X Cash instant ticket.

The owner of an automobile body shop was on a break from work earlier this month when he stopped at the Liquor Stop in Dundalk for a few items. While there, the occasional Lottery player’s attention was drawn to the 30X Cash scratch-off, a $30 game with more than 300 top prizes of $30,000 each. Intrigued, he bought one.

“It was a new game and had all those top prizes, so I tried it,” the big winner smiled Oct. 22 as he told his tale at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. “I guess I picked the right one.”

Indeed, the 30X Cash ticket that launched on Sept. 18 began with 320 top prizes of $30,000. And the Street resident found one of them. He scratched the ticket in the store revealing numerous matches with prizes adding up to $30,000. To be certain, he scanned the ticket in the store and received a congratulatory message.

“I couldn’t believe it, so I scanned the ticket again on my phone,” he said. “But that message said the prize was claimed, so I called you guys for help.”

After speaking with Lottery officials, they eased his mind and instructed him to make an appointment to claim his $30,000 prize. Even still the nervous winner needed one more confirmation, so he had a cashier at his local Lottery retailer scan his ticket again and give him a printed winner message.

Finally satisfied, on Oct. 22, the big winner visited the Maryland Lottery Claim Center to take home his prize. He said he plans to put his winnings toward his business.

The Liquor Stop at 6400 Holabird Avenue in Dundalk will receive a $300 bonus will for selling the top-prize winning ticket.
