ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The game that once had a generation digitally dodging traffic and hopping across rivers is making a comeback in New Mexico — but this time, players have the chance to win real cash.

The New Mexico Lottery is launching the new $3 Frogger Scratcher statewide this September, bringing the beloved 1980s arcade classic to life in a whole new way. Players can enjoy the nostalgia of Frogger while uncovering chances to win prizes of up to $5,000.

But the fun doesn’t stop at the initial play. Eligible non-winning Frogger tickets come with an extra opportunity through a special second-chance promotion featuring 15 prizes of $300 and one $5,000 Grand Prize. Players can enter their non-winning tickets at nmlottery.com under the Promotions tab for a chance win.

Players will also have a chance to play a just-for-fun Frogger digital game!

“Frogger is one of those games that brings back memories for so many people, and we’re excited to give this classic a new life as a New Mexico Lottery Scratcher,” said David Barden, CEO of the New Mexico Lottery. “The second-chance promotion makes the game even more exciting because players have another opportunity to win after the initial play. We hope players enjoy this nostalgic experience while remembering to play responsibly.”

A Classic Game with a Mission

While Frogger may evoke memories of arcades and early gaming, the New Mexico Lottery’s purpose goes far beyond entertainment.

Since 1996, the New Mexico Lottery has raised more than $1.1 billion for public education across the state. These proceeds fund Legislative Lottery Scholarships, which have helped more than 161,000 New Mexico students pursue higher education and new career paths.

“Every time a New Mexico Lottery game is played, it’s an opportunity to have some fun while contributing to a program that has made a difference in the lives of thousands of New Mexico students,” Barden said.
