COLUMBIA, SC (September 24, 2026) – A Florence man is taking some time off after winning $2 million playing Mega Millions®.
“I’m so happy,” he told South Carolina Education Lottery officials. “I’m going to do some things I wasn’t able to do before.”
A quick pick ticket from the Yana Food Mart on W. Palmetto St. in Florence is financing his staycation. The Mega Millions® ticket matched the first five white ball numbers drawn on August 11 (1 - 20 - 30 - 46 - 68 and MB 17) to win him the $2 million prize.
The Lottery caught up with the millionaire this week. He says he’s debt free, working on his to-do list and still playing Mega Millions®.
