Skee Ball ticket artAn anonymous Mathews man was at Little Sue, located at 9228 Buckley Hall Road in Mathews, helping another man who wasn’t sure how to play the Virginia Lottery. After helping the gentleman, he bought a Print ‘n Play Bingo Multiplier ticket for himself and won the game’s top prize of $250,000.

The winner chose to remain anonymous. Virginia law permits any winner of a Virginia Lottery prize to claim it anonymously, in which case the Lottery does not publicly disclose the winner’s identity.

“I looked at it [the ticket] and kept looking at it,” he told Lottery officials as he claimed his prize. He saw what he had won and thought to himself, “This can’t be so!”

Print ‘n Play Bingo Multiplier is one of several Print ‘n Play games available from the Virginia Lottery. The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 240,000. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 2.96.

All Virginia Lottery profits go to K-12 education in Virginia. The winning ticket was bought in Mathews County, which received more than $648,000 in Lottery funds for K-12 education last fiscal year. In Fiscal Year 2026, the Lottery raised more than $914 million for K-12 education, making up approximately 10 percent of Virginia’s total K-12 school budget.
