Olmsted Township Man Wins Big on Scratch-Off

OLMSTED TOWNSHIP, OH – A local man won a life-changing jackpot thanks to an Ohio Lottery scratch-off. He purchased a $50 VIP Millions Scratch-Off and won the top prize of $40,000 a year for 25 years. 

He said that he had won $5,000 previously but hadn’t won lately. He was wondering how he could win again, so he looked at the Ohio Lottery website and noticed that there were still five top prizes for the VIP Millions game. He decided to see if he could get lucky and win one of the big prizes. He had several $100 wins but kept feeling like he was meant to win big.

One day he was feeling lucky and bought four tickets. The first three were losers. As he scratched the fourth ticket, something was different. At first, he thought he won $4,000. But he checked the back of the ticket and that wasn’t one of the prizes. He was breathing hard and kept telling himself, “Don’t pass out!” Once he calmed down, he looked again and saw that he had actually won $40,0000 – for 25 years!

Instead of the $1 million annuity, he opted to take the one-time lump sum payment of $500,000. After mandatory tax withholdings of 26.75%, the Olmsted Township man will receive $366,250.

The winner said that he is so thankful for this win. He plans to use this money to set up his future by investing.
