Official release

A Missouri Lottery player in Cole County has claimed the first $100,000 top prize on a “SPACE INVADERS™” Scratchers ticket. The winner purchased the ticket at JC Eagle Stop, 3505 Missouri Blvd., in Jefferson City.

She said she and her husband “dabble” in Scratchers tickets, so when she noticed the new “SPACE INVADERS™” game, she decided to give it a try.

The win didn’t register with her right away, though.

“I didn’t think I won since the ‘SPACE INVADERS™’ game is different than a ‘match-the-number’ Scratchers,” she explained. “But I scanned it and it just said it’s a winner, ‘Claim at Lottery.’”

The message was clear, but a missing piece gave her pause, so she gave the ticket a closer look.

“So I was reading the game rules over and over, and then I finally figured out there was a column that didn’t have a ‘game over’ in it. I just couldn’t believe I’d won $100,000!” she beamed.

The winner said she and her husband plan to remodel their home with the prize money.

In FY26, Cole County players won more than $15.4 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $1.4 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $9.1 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
