Powerball Xs & Os Lower-Tier Prize Payouts Determined on a Pari-Mutuel Basis

MESSAGE FROM THE MULTI-STATE LOTTERY ASSOCIATION (September 14, 2026) - The first Powerball Xs & Os™ drawing was held on Sunday, Sept. 13, with more than 39,000 players winning prizes nationwide.

Powerball Xs & Os set prize payouts were determined on a pari-mutuel basis for the Sept. 13 drawing, reflecting ticket sales and the number of winners at each prize level.

According to game rules, lower-tier prizes may be paid on a pari-mutuel basis when prize liability limits are reached. In the Sept. 13 drawing, there were more winning tickets than statistically expected across multiple prize tiers. Combined with sales from the game's first drawing, this resulted in lower-tier prizes being paid on a pari-mutuel basis.

The winning NFL team logos selected in the inaugural drawing were the Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Note: Powerball Xs & Os results are randomly drawn and not based on, determined by, or dependent on the outcome of NFL games.

No one matched all 8 teams. Lower-tier prize payouts for the Sept. 13 drawing were:

• Match 7/8: 19 winners, $500 each
• Match 6/8: 810 winners, $40 each
• Match 5/8: 7,117 winners, $34 each
• Match 4/8: 31,423 winners, $7 each

The 19 Match 7/8 winning tickets were sold in Arizona, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland (3), Missouri, North Carolina (3), Oklahoma (2), Pennsylvania (3) and South Carolina (4).

Beyond the drawing, both winning and non-winning Powerball Xs & Os tickets can be entered at PowerballOfficial.com for additional chances to win. Each ticket earns points that can be used as entries into drawings through the new Powerball® promotional prize program, including the chance to win a trip to Super Bowl LXI.

Powerball Xs & Os™ costs $5 per play and features drawings every Sunday at 10 p.m. ET. Players select eight NFL team logos from all 32 NFL teams. Match all eight NFL team logos drawn to win the rolling cash jackpot or match some team logos to win a cash prize.
