Chase continues toward VIP trip to NASCAR Championship Weekend™

Ten lottery players from across the country, including a resident of Frederick, are now one step closer to a $1 million prize as the NASCAR Powerball — The Chase to $1 Million enters its next phase.

On Oct. 18, Jeffely Pargo of Frederick was one of 10 winners who advanced to the next round of the NASCAR Powerball — The Chase. The announcement came during the Freeway Insurance 500 at Phoenix Raceway. By advancing, Pargo won $5,000 and will now wait to see if he becomes a finalist.

The promotion’s next announcement comes on Nov. 1 during the Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway in Virginia, when the field of 10 will be narrowed to four finalists who will each win a VIP trip to the NASCAR Cup Series Championship™ race at Homestead Miami Speedway on Nov. 8. One of the finalists will win a $1 million prize in Miami, and the other three will each win $10,000.

To become Maryland’s representative in the national promotion, Pargo’s name was randomly drawn from among the 40 winners in the Maryland Lottery’s NASCAR Powerball — The Chase Second-Chance Promotion, which ran from May 4 through June 15. More than 22,000 Maryland Lottery players entered Powerball tickets into the promotion, which awarded 40 winners of $2,500.

So far, Pargo has won $12,500. In addition to the $2,500 he won earlier this year, Pargo has landed another $10,000 as he has advanced through The Chase. One winner from each of the 25 participating lotteries was selected for the national promotion. Pargo won $2,000 for being named as Maryland’s representative, plus another $3,000 on Sept. 27 when the field was narrowed to 20, and another $5,000 as the field was thinned to 10 on Oct. 18.

The 2026 NASCAR season marks Powerball’s fourth year as the Official Lottery Game of NASCAR and the fourth consecutive year that a lucky lottery player will have the chance to win $1 million in Victory Lane before the start of the NASCAR Cup Series Championship race.
