How to Play Pick 3

Overview
Pick 3 is North Carolina’s three-digit numbers game. Choose three digits from 000–999 and a play type (Exact, Any Order, 50/50, Combo, or Pair) for 50¢ or $1. Exact Order pays $500 on a $1 play (1 in 1,000). Drawings are twice daily — Daytime at 3:00 p.m. ET and Evening at 11:22 p.m. ET. FIREBALL is an optional add-on that doubles the cost.
How to play — step by step
1. Select 3 numbers
Choose 3 numbers from 0 to 9, or mark Quick Pick and let the terminal choose.
2. Select 1 bonus number
Choose 1 bonus number from 0 to 9. This ball is drawn separately from the main numbers.
3. Choose Exact, Any Order, or Pair
Exact must match in the order drawn. Any Order wins in any sequence (3-way or 6-way depending on repeated digits). Front or Back Pair matches two digits in order.
4. Add FIREBALL (optional)
A FIREBALL number is drawn after each Daytime and Evening draw. It can replace any of the three drawn digits to create extra winning combinations. Adding FIREBALL doubles the cost of your play.
5. Choose how many drawings
Pay $0.50 per play (add-ons cost extra). Tell the retailer how many consecutive drawings you want, or mark Advance Play on the slip.
