How to Play Pick 4

Overview
Pick 4 is North Carolina’s four-digit numbers game. Choose four digits from 0000–9999 and a play type (Exact, Any Order, 50/50, Combo, or Pair) for 50¢ or $1. Exact Order pays $5,000 on a $1 play (1 in 10,000). Drawings are twice daily — Daytime at 3:00 p.m. ET and Evening at 11:22 p.m. ET. FIREBALL is an optional add-on that doubles the cost.
How to play — step by step
1. Select 4 numbers
Choose 4 numbers from 0 to 9, or mark Quick Pick and let the terminal choose.
2. Select 1 bonus number
Choose 1 bonus number from 0 to 9. This ball is drawn separately from the main numbers.
3. Choose Exact or Any Order
Exact is the same sequence. Any Order payouts depend on repeated digits (4-way, 6-way, 12-way, or 24-way). 50/50 splits a play between Exact and Any.
4. Add FIREBALL (optional)
A FIREBALL number is drawn after each draw and can replace any drawn digit for more combinations. Adding FIREBALL doubles the cost of your play.
5. Choose how many drawings
Pay $0.50 per play (add-ons cost extra). Tell the retailer how many consecutive drawings you want, or mark Advance Play on the slip.
