How to Play Pick 3

Overview
Pick 3 is Virginia’s three-digit daily numbers game. Pick three digits from 000–999 and a play type (Exact Order, Any Order, 50/50, Combo, or Pairs). Wagers are 50¢ or $1 — Exact Order pays $500 on a $1 play (1 in 1,000). Day draws at 1:59 p.m. ET and Night at 11 p.m. ET. FIREBALL is an optional add-on that doubles the cost.
How to play — step by step
1. Select 3 numbers
Choose 3 numbers from 0 to 9, or mark Quick Pick and let the terminal choose.
2. Select 1 bonus number
Choose 1 bonus number from 0 to 9. This ball is drawn separately from the main numbers.
3. Choose Exact Order, Any Order, or Pair
Exact Order must match in the same sequence. Any Order wins in any sequence (3-way or 6-way depending on repeated digits). Front, Split, or Back Pair matches two digits in order.
4. Add FIREBALL (optional)
FIREBALL draws one digit from 0–9 after each Day and Night draw. Substituting it for one drawn digit creates extra winning combinations. Adding FIREBALL doubles the cost of your play(s).
5. Choose how many drawings
Pay $0.50 per play (add-ons cost extra). Tell the retailer how many consecutive drawings you want, or mark Advance Play on the slip.
