Overview
Pick 5 is Virginia’s five-digit daily numbers game. Pick five digits from 00000–99999 and a play type (Exact Order, Any Order, or 50/50). Exact Order pays $50,000 on a $1 play (1 in 100,000). Day draws at 1:59 p.m. ET and Night at 11 p.m. ET. FIREBALL is an optional add-on that doubles the cost.
How to play — step by step
1. Select 5 numbers
Choose 5 numbers from 0 to 9, or mark Quick Pick and let the terminal choose.
2. Select 1 bonus number
Choose 1 bonus number from 0 to 9. This ball is drawn separately from the main numbers.
3. Choose Exact Order or Any Order
Exact Order is the same sequence. Any Order payouts depend on how digits repeat (5-way through 120-way). 50/50 splits the play between Exact and Any.
4. Add FIREBALL (optional)
FIREBALL draws one digit from 0–9 after each Day and Night draw. Using it in place of one drawn digit can win the FIREBALL prize chart (Exact Order FIREBALL pays $12,000 on a $1 play).
5. Choose how many drawings
Pay $0.50 per play (add-ons cost extra). Tell the retailer how many consecutive drawings you want, or mark Advance Play on the slip.
