Just the Jackpot
Some lotteries still offer a jackpot-only option. Ask the retailer whether it is sold in your state.
Mega Millions is a multi-state jackpot game: five white balls from 1–70 plus a Mega Ball from 1–24. As of April 8, 2025, a play costs $5 and includes a 2x–10x multiplier on non-jackpot prizes. Rules are the same in Florida, Georgia, Texas, and California.
1. Select 5 numbers
Choose 5 numbers from 1 to 70, or mark Quick Pick and let the terminal choose.
2. Select 1 bonus number
Choose 1 bonus number from 1 to 24. This ball is drawn separately from the main numbers.
3. Your multiplier is included
Every $5 Mega Millions play includes a multiplier from 2x to 10x. It increases non-jackpot prizes and does not apply to the jackpot.
4. Choose how many drawings
Pay $5 per play (add-ons cost extra). Tell the retailer how many consecutive drawings you want, or mark Advance Play on the slip.
