WEST VIRGINIA LOTTERY JULY 25, 2026

JACKPOTS DUEL IN JULY HEAT; POWERBALL DRAWS SATURDAY

Charleston, W.Va. – In what has become a recent trend during summer months, national draw game jackpots climb just as the temperature does, resulting in dueling jackpots as July, one of the hottest months for draw game jackpot victories in history, closes its 2026 chapter.

After no tickets matched all six numbers Friday, Mega Millions has grown to $800 million (cash value of $344.2 million), while Powerball sits at $600 million (cash value of $262.8 million) ahead of Saturday’s drawing.

Saturday’s Powerball drawing marks the 36th in the current run, with the jackpot last being hit on May 2 where two tickets split a $20 million jackpot. Five Powerball jackpots have been hit in 2026.

Tuesday’s Mega drawing will be the 38th in the current jackpot run, where the last three drawings have each resulted in over $9 million in prizes across all nine tiers. The $800 million jackpot remains 10th for all-time Mega Millions jackpots.

Powerball tickets can be purchased for $2 apiece, or $3 with the Powerplay option, which increases non-jackpot prizes. Mega Millions tickets cost $5 to play and each play purchased is given a random multiplier for non-jackpot prizes. All tickets must by purchased by 9:59m on the date of the game’s drawing.
